Baius That the world was fearful...how grievous. Perhaps then...as you once said to me...men were not meant to live in a world of magic. Our natures are both what is wondrous and terrible about us...our curiosities and passions and codes... We can do great and atrocious things, and though I loathe the latter, both are what defines us. If we did not have magic, though, perhaps...at least...our natures might not be a threat to the very world we inhabit.
And perhaps that is why...such days as these inevitably recur...
I wonder...if there are not spaces dedicated to these ancient aspects...perhaps buried in broken places, like Donnersberg...or in the forgotten city below Serenitas... Places that might shed light on how things have come to be this way before and yet again...
