Fletcher laughed at the girls, then turned back to the itty bitty evergreen trees he was just inspecting. "It looks like these are going to hold fine, Edward," he tells the landlord. "I was worried over the summer, but they seem to have held their roots pretty well."
He glances around. "I'm pretty sure some crocus angustifolius will do well out here, if we want a bit of color besides white back."
