CHARACTERISTICS
There was a time when Lili could have been described as a bright and fun-loving young woman. That was who she was before her attack. The person that Lili is now is drastically different. Where at one time she would have surrounded herself with friends, these days she keeps to herself. She can't afford to take the risk of someone getting close and learning that she is a werewolf. Lili is not completely unfriendly. She shares a comradery with other hunters and isn't above spending time outside of work with them; however, don't expect her to be forthcoming about personal matters. Only the hunter who saved her life knows what she is and Lili intends to keep it that way. Ironically, Lili hates being by herself. After years of having to raise and entertain herself while her mother ran around town, she has developed an extreme aversion to being alone. You can often find Lili in places that are often frequented by people. She has been known to go and sit in any bar late at night; not to drink, but instead to be surround by others. There are times when Lili finds herself at odds not just with herself, but with others. She has found that her religious beliefs land her in one of two places with others; either they respect her dedication and leave her be or they consider her wildly naive. She believes wholeheartedly that there is no hardship which cannot be overcome through perseverance and faith. It has often been expressed how annoying she can be in her unyielding morals. Lili views life in terms of black and white; actions are either right or wrong. Helping people is something that comes second nature to Lili. If she has to do without so that others can have, she is more than willing to offer. At the same time, Lili feels that leading by example is also helpful to others. She will be quick to put others in their place if she feels they are behaving unjustly or reprehensibly. Background Raina Villalobos was never a very good woman. The only daughter of two immigrants from Mexico, Raina was given absolutely everything her parents could spare. Though they didn't have much, like most who had moved from the country, her parents would often do without if it meant giving their daughter something extra. Their intentions had been for the best, but the constant spoiling only created a self-centered monster. Everyone in her town knew her to be a bratty horror. When her parents died there was a silent hope that it would be a wake up call for her to become a better person -- it was not. Without her doting parents to give her everything she wanted Raina turned to the young men in town, exchanging favors in return for the means to keep up the lifestyle she accustomed. An unfortunate consequence of her behavior came in the form of a daughter. Liliana Villalobos was born to a mother who didn't want her and no knowledge of who her father was. Just like with her parent's death, the birth of her child did little to change Raina's selfish ways. Too often was Lili left to her own devices while her mother ran around town, hopping from relationship to relationship. Surprisingly, Lili had little trouble taking care of herself. Neighbors took pity on her, giving help where they could. Of course being on her own meant that she was forced to mature quickly. As she grew older, Lili became more and more drawn to The Templar, a religious group living in a compound not far from where she lived, and their faith. There were many from her town that attended the religious services and encouraged the young girl to join them. Within the teachings of The Templar Lili found a structure that she had never seen before. There were guidelines and moral expectations, which came as refreshing change to her unregulated life. She had always despised her mother's behavior and the beliefs of The Templar showed her that life could be better if Lili lived piously. Life continued on for Lili with little change. She was as distant from her mother as ever, rarely seeing her for more than a day at a time, and she had become a devoted follower of The Templar, attending services regularly. Lili had been considering for some time joining the religious group and working her way toward becoming a nun. She devoted her time to training herself physically and mentally for the day that she decided to make the inevitable choice. It was a clear and bright night. Lili was home alone, as usual. For no reason other than boredom, she decided to take a walk through the woods around her house -- a decision that she has regretted for years. The attack was happened so fast that there was little she could do to defend herself. There is no doubt that she would have been dead had it not been for the man that saved her. A hunter, she learned later, had been tracking a werewolf for weeks. Though he had managed to finally catch it and kill the beast, he had not made it in time to save Lili. If she had known better, Lili would have considered herself lucky that she managed to survive the wolf attack. The hunter should have put a bullet in her right then and there -- and she would have thanked him -- but something gave him pause. The rest of the night is a blur of bits and pieces in her memory. She remembers lying bloody and broken in the back of a truck, the pain of being carried, waking up briefly in an run down motel. She awoke the next day to all her wounds healed; the only hint at the horror that had happened the night before was the dried blood on her clothes. Waiting around for the next full moon. After she managed to calm down, which was no easy task, it was explained to her by the hunter who had "saved" her what was happening. He would let her live if she promised to keep herself locked up, by any means necessary, during the full moon. If he heard whispers of a werewolf attack and found it to be her, he would kill her with no question. Lili couldn't believe her ears. She tried to plead with the man, explain to him that if it meant living as a monster she didn't want to live at all. He would hear none of it. The hunter further explained that the hotel room was payed through the rest of the month, going home was no longer an option; Lili was to remain their until her her first change, which he would be there for. The following days were the hardest Lili had ever gone through. She was alone, cooped up in the middle of nowhere, with the knowledge that she had been turned into the very thing her religion taught her to hate. Suicide had crossed her mind more than once, but she found herself too much of a coward to follow through with the act. A month later, to the very day, the hunter returned. He had entered the room baring chains and cuffs like he had brought her a present. It had all looked so complicated, but he made sure that she knew how to restrain herself on her own. That night she changed for the first time. Her first transformation was a horrible, painful experience. The trauma could be compared to being born, only Lili didn't have the blessing of forgetting it all. She awoke the next morning, in human form, feeling ashamed and evil. Lili found herself at a crossroad. She knew she could never go home; joining The Templar was now completely out of the question. The thought of a purposeless life, counting down the days until her next change, was more than Lili could stand. After much consideration, she confronted the hunter who had saved her about training her. Just because she couldn't be a member of The Templar didn't mean that she couldn't do good by becoming a hunter herself. Over the past two years she has learned quite a great deal. She now hunts by herself and has learned to use her curse as an aide. Lili is well aware that she could be in great danger if anyone were to learn what she is and she is always taking precautions to ensure that doesn't happen. RELATIONSHIPS Ana Ternovec Ana was the hunter that saved Lili's life almost two years ago. She was also the woman that taught Lili everything she would need to know to survive as a hunter. Over time she began to see Ana as more than a savior and a mentor, but also as the mother that Lili had never had. To her, this woman is on a pedestal; Ana can do no wrong in her eyes and she would do absolutely anything she asked of her. Evan Conrad A chance encounter brought Lili to Evan. The two caught the scent of the same creature and after accidentally letting it escape -- which Lili still claims was not her fault -- had to work together to hunt it down. They became fast friends and grew closer as time went on. Evan is like a brother to Lili; being around him puts her in a brighter mood, no matter what she had been feeling before. Despite being extremely close, Lili hasn't told Evan that she is a werewolf and, if it stays within her power, she never will. Abilities and Skills Shape-shifting Because of the curse, Lili has the ability to transform into three different phases of lycanthrope. The first, and most Lili's third phase: A Mexican Wolf. Skilled Pickpocket Over the past couple of years Lili has been developing her ability to relieve people of their more lucrative possessions. She is by no means a master and there have been occasions of getting caught, but for the most part she can slip by undetected. Moral qualms keep her from stealing from just anyone; Lili will usually prey on those that are ostentatious with her wealth and makes it a habit of donating half her earnings to The Templar. It is a necessary evil that has become her part of her income. Facts and Trivia
