Exactly my reaction. I mean, Nemesis made me, who is really shy among many people, stand up at a convention (FedCon) and ask someone who decided to let Stuart Baird direct that film, because it was the stupidest decision ever. and why they did that. The anser: "The company wanted an action movie!" This film was so boring, I was so happy when it was finally over, I didn't even care about Data's death. And that from me, who still gets teary-eyed at Spock's death. (No matter that I've seen that a lot of times, and know he comes back and everything.)
That's one of the reasons I always thought the box office for the first weekend is a pretty stupid way to say if a movie is good or bad. After all, the first weekend shows people's expectations, before lots of their friends know the film. The weeks after, when you can see how many people go watch it after they've heard some friends telling them how it is or people watching it again shows much better what the people who've seen the film thought about it.
