Kevin had been grateful that Justin had loaned him an outfit for the evening. He was quite sure there wasn't anything in his closet that would have been appropriate for this gathering. It was sort of a mix in formalities, not worthy of the dress robes he wore to Michael but still fancier than what his typical clothes.
Kevin was also glad that Lisa had agreed to go with him. Or at least agreed to meet him there. It was that clarification that gave Kevin a sinking sensation in his stomach. He tried not to think about it as he leaned against the wall by a table set with plated appetizers. Nibbling something wrapped in phyllo dough, Kevin tried to turn his mind on something else, but that didn't really help. It only reminded him of the tensions within his family and the struggles he had been having at work. Not to mention the dreams.
He looked up when he heard the band playing something familiar.
