"You don't seem to fear anything," Parvati said, lifting her hair to search his eyes. "But I think you're hiding hurt behind your humor and smiles," she said, stroking his face again.
"There just seems to be this touch of sadness below your jokey surface. I know there is sexiness under there too," she said with a smile, "but...you've just had so much-I'm sorry I shouldn't bring it up. I'm just awful!" She covered his eyes, nose and ears with kisses, trying to lessen the impact of her words.
