Squeezing Lucius's hand, Narcissa nodded. "I'm sure they would like that. She and Draco have known each other a long time; they're almost like the two of us, you know." A genuine smile lit her eyes as she remembered how Lucius had courted her. They had been friends at Hogwarts, and their relationship had eventually become more serious after she had finished school. That was one reason why she was pleased Draco had picked Pansy — Pansy had stood by Draco through all of the troubles he'd been through already in his young life.
"When the weather improves, perhaps you and I can go riding as well." Narcissa wasn't as fond of the sport as her husband was, but it was something they could do together without leaving the estate, which Lucius was loathe to do these days.
"Darling," Narcissa said, but her voice had an edge that didn't match the loving address, "yes, you should ask Draco yourself." She glared coolly at her husband, showing more annoyance than she probably should have. He might suspect something was up with Draco, but she wasn't going to be the one to tell him what their son had done. Draco was an adult now; she wasn't always going to smooth over his mishaps with his father. "I try not to keep track of everything he does now that he's an adult, but I am sure he would appreciate your interest."
She dropped her husband's hand and, reaching again for her glass, took a sip of wine. "Now, I believe you promised me a romantic evening, Lucius."
