Draco arrived in coal black robes and his DE mask, his wand at the ready with a heartbeat that would match any race broom's fastest time. It wasn't but a few seconds and he was hit with an Incarcerous hex which instantly bound him with tight ropes. Thankfully the caster of the hex didn't stick around to finish and Draco was able to wiggle his blade from his waist sheath and slice himself free within a few moments time.
It certainly angered him and once free, Draco sent a barrage of curses in just about every direction, noticing that one of his stunning curses hit a Ministry worker square in the chest. With a smirk, Draco heard a commotion coming his way and from his vantage point, felt his best move was to lay low and play sniper to the forthcoming swarm of unknowns.
It wasn't but a few more seconds that Draco recognized distinctly one of the voices among the crowd. Was that...Pasny Parkinson? His bride to be and love of his life? What in the great Merlin's name was she doing here? He felt his heart skip a beat and a great lump in his throat as he watched the cloaked and masked woman he loved sweep by.
Even in his astonishment and in a flash of protective anger, Draco sent darker curses towards those following Pansy in an effort to keep danger off her back and before he knew it, she had disappeared into the office where the getaway floo was waiting.
Scared, angry and just a little bit confused, Draco hurled a Incendio into the hallway before he disappeared himself into the escape floo and found himself in a darkened alleyway not unlike the one he'd had the unfortunate encounter with Amycus Carrow only a few weeks prior. Draco's heart sank as he wiped sweat from his face and focused his efforts not on the battle, but on making it home safe.
Once safe within the bounds of the Malfoy Manor Draco made his way to his library and poured himself a large drink which he gulped down quickly. Though his heart was racing, the guilt had not set in, nor did he think it would. Perhaps this would be something to help the Death Eaters see that a new direction was what would really help them win this time.
