It felt good to hear Justin words, to know that someone had listened to her concerns and have given their opinion - an opinion she felt she could trust. It confirmed what she had been thinking about all week. That she would need to find a new job and once she had, she could report the company to the International Wizarding Trading Commission, whose investigation would shut them down cold.
And then she'd finally be free.
"I don't have the money for that sort of thing. Maybe when I'm older. After I've gotten more experience and had time to raise capital. At this point, I just need a steady job to pay my bills. The rest I'll figure out later."
Another sip and she was nearly done her coffee. There was something else she wanted to say, but she knew it would sound weird. But it was worth a shot.
"I know part of you feels bad for all of this. And while yes, on the outside, you were a contributing factor in the things that have been happening recently - it hasn't been your fault. All of this would have happened eventually. The issue was never with you, it was with me. I was the fuse. You were just the spark."
Sally looked up at Justin. "I just wanted...to thank you for that." And Sally knew it sounded as lame as she thought it would. But the relief she felt was worth the embarrassment.
