"Actually, it's fairly easy. When my brother Linus was removed, the distribution of shares changed from 25% to 33% each. Mind you, my mother wasn't pleased that she didn't get a higher share to begin with for being his wife. And the fact that I'm not 21 yet means I'm not a full share holder. It was designed that way so that each of his children would be a certain level of maturity before they had a say on the board."
Sally took another sip of coffee, despite the fact that the first one had burned her tongue.
"They don't view me as an asset. They don't like my ideas on customer services or my suggestions for growth markets. Carlton only cares about making money and my mother only cares about spending it. Both of their habits have been sucking out the life of the company for years." Sally took a deep breath, depleted by the thought.
It was then that Sally was glad that Justin had chosen a muggle place to share coffee. No one around them would have any idea what they were talking about. But then she remembered Justin's last question.
"My mother had tea with Mrs. Merriweather. Their conversation prompted her look for proof that I was living with my-" Sally had to twist it in her mind, to not think in her mother's words. She lowered her voice "My scandalous boyfriend. Of course, this was followed by a long argument that ended with me...apparently...rejecting my family's values. Once I told her I doubt I'm marry a ever marry...the kind of man she had expected me to, it was pretty much over."
