Who: George Weasley and Draco Malfoy
What: A chance meeting and hard feelings
Where: Diagon Alley
When: December 3, 1998
Rating: There's likely to be some bad words
George Weasley was on a mission. At some point in the last few days, he had allowed himself to run out of essence of Murtlap, and he was dangerously low on Fever Fudge. It took all of his willpower not to become annoyed with his late twin, because it had always been his job to make sure they had all the little components he needed.
Anger, George thought, was counterproductive to this whole 'getting on with my life' thing he was trying. Almost anyone would say "Ah, but that is part of the process." And then George would hit them, probably proving them right in the process. It was, at least, one of the more sensible stages of the process of loss. Certainly the most productive. Who needs bargaining when no one listens?
Jacket pulled close against the chilly December evening, George set off down the alley toward the Apothecary. With his luck, it would be closed just to spite him, but he was friendly with one of the lovely young assistants there. Yes, that sort of friendly. If she was closing, she'd definitely let him in.
Without his permission, his thoughts wandered of their own accord to happy memories. He was so lost in the image that he failed to notice that the blonde fellow he'd been following had come to an abrupt halt. The good news? At least no one got knocked over.
