Mrs. Merriweather seemed pleased when Justin offered his hand and she shook it in return. In her mind she was thinking that not enough young men nowadays took the necessary steps with introductions.
Sally, on the other hand, had a small smile on her lips when Justin had mentioned her as good company. In fact, it made her a little bold. "Justin had been very helpful during my transition from home. In fact, the flat I'm letting is in his building. He recommended it to me when I was looking for places." Her eyes twinkled as she spoke. "I'm sure you understand how important it is for a young woman in a big city to live near someone she can trust."
Mrs. Merriweather nodded. "Yes. London is a big change from Shrewsbury. Well, I'm glad you're doing well, Sally-Anne, but I'm afraid I have a meeting with one of the owners to discuss potential merchandise." She raised a fabric bag which Sally only assumed held something old and valuable. "Give my regards to your mother."
Sally waited until Mrs. Merriweather had left the room before continuing. "I'm glad she was in a hurry."
