Parvati trotted after her sister as she made her way to the kitchen. "Ew, what got all over you?? There's a reason I hated potions, and nasty things bursting all over me is but one," she said with a laugh. "I'll take some tea too, by the way."
Parvati thought about their parents, wondered if they were drinking chai on the expansive lawn in Mumbai at the family home. She felt a tug, not for India (she had seen quite enough of it, thanks) but for her parents, especially her father. He could always reassure her, would always protect her...she longed to hear her sister's thoughts on the matter. "Mom and Dad must be in Mumbai by now. You know, I hadn't seen them in so many months, and then I returned and finally got to see everyone again and they go and leave again. It hardly seems fair." She let a put show as she pulled down some glasses for tea. "I hate that all of this violence has torn our family apart even if we're all still safe."
