Marietta frowned a bit at her friend's description. She had certainly hoped her job was more exciting, it would have given her hope for future in the Ministry. If Law Enforcement was dull, what was the point? She thought. Still, it was so good to see Cho. Tom brought the firewhiskeys over, and she downed hers in one as Cho payed. She signaled for a second round.
Cho asked about the men in the bar, and she took a moment to survey. She was right, there wasn't anyone special, but Marietta didn't much care. "Oh, isn't that the new assistant to Gilbert Wimple over there? He's not so bad...nothing another drink wouldn't fix. This one's on me," she said, as Tom faithfully brought the next round. "I think I'll go put a word in. I'll be right back, you don't move an inch! I want to hear all about how you've been." She hopped off her stool, grabbed the second whiskey and drank it much too quickly. She flitted to a table nearby where she put an arm around said assistant, whom Marietta was sure named either Ted or Tom. She pointed out Cho, and told him he should buy lovely ladies like them drinks. Her voice was high and giggly, she knew she was getting too loud, but she didn't much care. "After a day like this, don't I deserve to enjoy myself?" Ted or Tom told her he'd be by in a minute after he visited the loo, and Marietta slid back on her stool. "Well, now the night got interesting, I just found us round 3!"
