Thank Merlin Draco had potions that eased his pain, because the wrath of his mother was not to be questioned. He knew she’d be angry – that was an understatement – however he couldn’t deny his involvement any longer and at the same time, he needed her to know that to him – at least for him – it was going to be different.
It was no use arguing with her – that only lead to more fighting and that’s exactly what Draco did not like, fighting. He listened to her rant a bit before he found the angle by which he might ease her mind even a little bit.
“It will be different now,” He started to justify, “I’ve taken what Carrow had to give me like a man and now I can stand proud in my beliefs. In our beliefs, mum.” He flinched slightly as she charmed blood from his face.
“You raised me better than what has become of our world and I cannot stand to simply walk away from all that I hold dear.” He felt a bit of a rush as the words flowed from his tongue.
“It has to be different and I can be a part of that.” He added, as the resolution in his bloodied eyes surfaced and he gave a slight smile to his mother in an effort to reassure her.
“I’m not father. This isn’t his war. This is a new era and there needs to be a new direction.” He glanced up to catch her eye, the pride in his blood and his family and all he had been raised to hold dear clearly written all over his face.
