Justin, nodded. A little relieved she had passed up on it. Riding was a time, Justin used to sort out his thoughts; having Sally there, would have just come to be a distraction. “Okay, just come by on the weekend, when you want to go looking for that couch, I’ll be here.”
He started heading towards the door; with Sally this time, which was a little unusual. He didn’t think, they ever actually walked one another to their doors before. He had his hand on the handle; opening it slightly, when he noticed the look on Sally’s face. It wasn’t anything he really expected to see; the hesitation, but he supposed they hadn’t done this before. He figured it had something to do with the routine of a goodbye, they didn’t have yet. He held out his hand, but it had either been missed by Sally, or unwanted, because Sally ended up wrapping her arms around him instead. Justin, pulled his hand out; that was sandwiched between the two and brought his own arms up around her. He supposed the hug was longer than just a traditional ‘I’ll see you, soon,’ goodbye. He didn’t really mind though.
Sally smelt of wine.
He wasn’t sure who pulled away first. Who realized they weren’t just saying goodbye anymore, but rather standing embracing one another. But, Justin supposed, it didn’t really matter, he smiled and walked back over to his flat. He would call this one a success.
