Justin just didn't understand. He was never going to understand. It wasn't just a blood issue, though that certainly hurt; it was personal. One didn't just share a room with someone for six whole years and not know when they couldn't stand you. Megan had tried so very hard over the last six years to get both Sally and Lia to like her - Megan needed to be liked - but the harder she tried the worse it became and well now here she was, losing her best friend. She supposed were it Hannah, or Susan it wouldn’t seem so bad, but it wasn’t. She frowned a little. “I don’t get it. Why should it matter? The war’s over, Justin.” She said, still not looking at Justin. “I know, someone wrote some nasty things, but that doesn’t mean you’re in any danger; though maybe you should move.”
Sighing as Justin rubbed her back, Megan shook her head. She sat up and pulled her knees up to her chest. “I’m not upset, but I wish you’d stop saying it was a misunderstanding. You know how you feel about Wayne? Yeah, well, it’s the same thing.” Megan shook her head. “But I’m happy – you’ve found someone you like.” Megan added, hoping she actually sounded like she meant it.
