"I thought you would enjoy it. That's why when I suggested it, I was hoping you'd volunteer." Kevin took a sip of his ale, savoring the taste. He had had a fair amount lousy beers in his life, it was nice to find one he really appreciated. "Though I suppose I could have just asked you come directly." But in Kevin's mind that seemed a bit bold.
Removing the pack from his jacket pocket, Kevin felt the need to join Lisa for a smoke. Tapping the bottom of the package on the ball of his hand, he retrieved a cigarette and placed it in his mouth before lighting it. He had seen witches and wizards light cigarettes with their wands, but Kevin always felt more comfortable using a lighter, like he did tonight. He took a slow drag off the fag before turning his attention back to Lisa.
"Well, we have three choice. We can either stay here and eventually get squeezed out by thirsty people. We can head down by the stage and maybe get trampled by...unbridled enthusiasm." Kevin smiled at the term. "Or we can try to score on of the tables. But if the last one is our goal, I say give them the same smile you gave the bartender. They might just give us a break."
