She had known that the day would come eventually. She simply hadn't anticipated for it to happen so abruptly. Had she known- had she been able to make any kind of arrangements that might have helped prepare her for his departure, then maybe it wouldn't have been so bad. Maybe she wouldn't be laying awake in bed, her eyes wide open.
Okay, so she wasn't completely alone. She had Basil, who was resting comfortably on top of her chest. But what good could her precious pumpkin do if somebody decided they wanted to break in? If Fenrir...
No. She wouldn't think about it. By now, it was fairly silly to do so. If he hadn't come for her by now, then he wasn't going to come at all!
THATWASAKNOCKONHER DOOR.
She bolted upright, her eyes widening tenfold as her breath caught in her throat. She hugged the brown rabbit very closely to her, and only loosened her grip when she heard Seamus' familiar voice. Her initial feeling was relief, though it immediately evaporated into worry. Hopping down from her bed, she put Basil back into her cage, and rushed downstairs. Tripping down the last two steps, were it not for the fact that the door was right in front of her stairs, she would have fallen. Instead, she crashed into it with a loud 'thud.' Opening the door hurriedly, she looked at Seamus fairly dumbly, though stepped aside for him to enter, none the less.
"Are you alright, love? What's wrong?" she cooed, and closed the door behind him. She immediately went in for a hug, her lips falling onto his cold cheek. "You're not hurt, are you? Do you need a blanket? Tea? I can put the kettle on," she babbled, eying him for any signs of physical detriment.
