Parvati could hardly contain herself, and she didn't know where to look first. The feeling of finally being surrounded by her friends was at once comfortable and at the same time overwhelming. For so many months, she had been in India and the slower pace really started to catch up with her. Sure, she had been to some glamorous parties and such with Ravi, but it wasn't the same. She poured herself another glass of champagne and then remembered the gifts in her bag.
"Oh! I almost forgot! I come bearing gifts!" She opened her bag and rummaged around, producing a box which she handed to Lavender. "This is for you, Lavy baby, I know it will look lovely on you; it's just your color!" The box contained a finely made sari in a lovely lavender color with blue flowers. She clapped with excitement, waiting for her friend to open her present.
"And Seamus, this of course is for you," and handed him a box containing a small hookah with flavored tobaccos, as well as a box of Chai. "I told you I got you the best Chai, but I thought you might enjoy this as well. I love the apple tobacco; delicious and relaxing. Maybe we should all try it!"
To Dean, she pulled out a box containing an Indian national football team jersey, and some finely spiced Indian single malt whiskey, the kind favored by her uncles in Mumbai. "I hope you like them, I know how you love muggle football," she said smiling at her friends.
"AND," she began, reaching in her bag one final time, "I brought some ice cream! Nothing better to go with champagne, hmm?" and went to the kitchen to find some bowls. "Anyone else want any?" she called. Already this evening was so fun.
