Amycus couldn't deny that he was slightly jealous of the role that Alecto played in everything for the well being of the Death Eaters. Soon, they would be running things, especially since the new recruits followed her orders and not the Lestrange brothers. In his mind, Rabastan was more pathetic than his brother, especially since he had predictable ideas and followed the same suit of events that the Dark Lord had provided previously. If they were to be successful in all their endeavors new ideas must be formed and new paths must be taken. One strong enough and far more loyal to the Dark Lord had to make those choices. The Carrows were superior and better off in that sort of role. It was always on his mind to overtake everything, but it was best to bide his time accordingly and make choices that were better for Alecto and himself.
Unsure how Alecto made the choices of who to give a chance to join their ranks and fight at their side, but Amycus was about to take the cake when it came to little protegees. Daphne Greengrass would not only add another body to their ranks, but he would take the brightest and well off of the Slytherin house. She would even put other well known names to shame, especially with the way she presented herself. Oh yes, Amycus read her journals and comments towards others, as well as the rumors too. There was no doubt that she had much potential and she had been wasting it, until that day. He would put a change to that.
Amycus had kept a watchful eye on each of her body movements, already sensing that her hand had reached for the wand within a pocket. While others found him to be on the stupid side of things, he truly was smart when it came to certain situations. He zoned in on actions, and sensed feelings such as fear with such ease. It really was quite simple to read the middle Greengrass sibling, at least, in his mind that was fairly certain. However, where he had been self educated on such situations throughout the years, Amycus failed to realize other things that came without thinking to others. The proximity that he held position with Daphne hadn't bothered him, nor did the fact that she decided to take a step backwards as well. He had been far closer to others that had no desire to be near him, so the action hadn't phased him in the slightest.
"I decide where and when I want to go places, Miss Greengrass. Not to mention, that I take what I desire as well. No one holds any bars around me," he said with a sort of growl in his voice. Quite a few actions within the Carrow had been animal like, such as the sense of prowl within his eyes. Amycus was ready to pounce and take a hold of exactly what he wanted. It would have been that moment, but he had enjoyed hearing the word professor directed towards him. "What sort of business does an attractive woman have here at such a late time all by herself?" he asked with a tilt of his head.
