Noticing her honesty, Kevin felt ok to reply in the same. "I don't really understand it. It doesn't even really hit me until I'm reminded of it. I just can't grasp that he won't be be back." Kevin shook his head. "What's worse is seeing the rest of you. Terry. You. Imagining how it must feel."
His stomach tightened at the allusion to Michael's death. He didn't want to bring it up, but it couldn't be ignored. He had been their friend. And no matter how many times people died in his life, it never made it easier to to deal with. Michael was the closest victim to Kevin, by far. Same year, same house.
But it was pale in comparison to how Mandy must feel.
