Kevin had certainly not expected a hug from Mandy. Lisa, maybe. Morag on a slim chance. But not Mandy. They just had never been that sort of friends.
But he hugged her back and welcomed the opportunity to share a table for a bit. "Thanks," he replied, taking a seat across from her. He unwrapped his sandwich, debating exactly what to say. He wanted to goof around like they usually did, but it seemed inappropriate.
