"Wow. This woman must be quite the creature if I'm more tolerable than she is." Her thought went back the conversation she and Justin had had the other night, when she talked about her "qualifications". He had been quick to agree that finding a man to put up with Sally-Anne Perks would be a challenge in and of itself. Adding all the other variables made her cause nearly impossible.
Sally wasn't sure which of his responses was more true - that or the idea that accepting her fate did not seem like a very Sally thing to do. Either way, she hated that he was right.
"You know. You really shouldn't take the liberty of inviting me to things." She took another sip. "And I really should stop getting in the habit of accepting your invitations."
