This was impossible, Ron thought. Not being able to hold her. "I can get you one of those potions," he offered quietly. It would help with the pain, and probably put her to sleep, but that might not be the worst of ideas right then.
He'd been right though, she couldn't have handled it before, if only due to the physical pain it was bringing her even now, a couple days into her recovery.
"You can't change it," he told her. "You can't second guess what you said when there's nothing that would have suggested it was a bad idea to go shopping for books. We can't live our lives in that sort of fear."
Except they probably would, wouldn't they? It had already started.
