"You're beautiful," Ron said, stepping up behind her, and placing his hand carefully on her back where he could now tell that it wasn't bruised.
"And yes, they're already starting to fade," Ron promised, grateful she couldn't know what she had looked like when she was first brought in. "Come on," he said quietly. "I know everything hurts right now. Let's shower?"
He guided her to where the water was running, and then stepped in first, holding his hands out for her to hold onto. He'd positioned himself so that she would be facing him, far easier for him to keep her from falling that way.
"If you need to," he told her, "just lean against me. I know you're tired. And I won't let you fall."
It was somewhat easier now, knowing where she was bruised, to make sure that he didn't inadvertently hurt her. He waited to make sure that she was still steady on her feet under the stream of water, before reaching for the shampoo.
