Turning her attention back to Ron as he turned the shower water on, even the sound of it seemed to relax her just the slightest bit.
Hermione allowed him to undress her, grateful for the fact she was wearing what St Mungo's had given her as opposed to her regular clothing. Already hyper sensitive to any kind of touch, it wasn't the most comfortable of experiences, but she knew it could have been worse. A small smile crossed her face as Ron leant in and kissed her, if only for her own amusement at how different this was to the usual reasons they were doing this.
While he was occupied removing his own clothing, Hermione glanced back towards the mirror again. She heard Ron call her name, most likely in attempt to stop her from looking at herself, but as with everything else, she had to know.
"Oh my god."
Her face was the first thing she noticed, the left side thoroughly bruised and an impressive cut under her eye. As her eyes travelled down her body, it was almost hard to recognise it as her own. "I didn't know I could turn so many colours." It was an attempt at a joke, but she sounded more shocked than anything.
There was a red welt across her stomach and one down her thigh, both in the process of healing but still visible all the same. "They're working on the bruises, right?" she asked quietly. Two different healers had told her they could only do so much at a time without it becoming overwhelming, but that wasn't what she wanted to hear. Contrary to popular belief, there wasn't just one magic cure-all spell or potion. It was all a process.
