"Right. Bored." Daphne watched as the house elf scooped up the exhausted cat and vanished through a doorway to release it outside. She was quiet for a long moment, staring at the door that the elf left through before she finally looked at Blaise, a tiny smile curling on her lips.
"I'm well, considering everything. Shall we move to the drawing room?" Daphne posed the suggestion as a question, however, she was moving towards the room whether Blaise wanted to go into the drawing room or not. Her mother trained her well, making sure to play perfect little hostess, even to someone whom she considered a brother. Blaise was a nice bloke, honestly, he was. Daphne grew up with him after all, he was like family. A brother who was closer to her than Alexander was. Daphne couldn't place her finger on it, but knew something was bothering Blaise and she knew it was all going to come out during his visit today.
"You may be so bold, however, are you implying that I don't look this radiant usually?" Daphne teased, as she shot him a sly smirk. Pushing open the door to the drawing room, she smell of Christmas still lingered in the air. It would take a few months for that smell to go away. Not that Daphne could complain, the smell of evergreen and cinnamon was a comforting type of smell. At least the decorations were gone, and only a few lingering pine needles laid where garland once hung.
Instinctively brushing her hair over her cheek to cover the scratch, Daphne took a seat on the plush red couch - her usual spot.
"Come, sit, Blaise. Tell me what you have been up to."
