Seth didn't want to admit the truth: that he didn't know this wouldn't happen again. He would do everything he could to keep them safe, but he couldn't guarantee it. But that wasn't going to stop him from being with Cho. The seriousness of this situation was propelling their relationship faster than it might otherwise have gone, and for someone who had been iffy about commitment before this, that should be terrifying, but it wasn't. Because it was Cho standing before him.
"I can prove it by being with you and not dying," he said, though he couldn't be sure if she would believe him.
She pulled away from him and he sighed, just watching her for a moment as he listened. He could see that she was scared, and truthfully, so was he. But he refused to let this end before it had even begun. The Death Eaters weren't going to win this fight.
Moving over to the couch, he sat down beside her and pulled her into his arms, practically scooping her up and into his lap. "I promise you that I will do everything in my power to stay with you," he said, his tone low and firm as he gazed at her, their faces only inches apart. His hand moved up to cup her cheek. "I'm not letting them ruin this for us, Cho. I want to be with you more than I've ever wanted to be with anyone. Don't push me away. We need to make the most of this time we have together, not spend it apart."
