It was comforting Seth as much as it was comforting her to hold her in his arms. He turned his head, pressing his cheek to her hair as he listened to her sobbing, his heart aching for her and for Penny. Thank Merlin Cho hadn't been there too. He was still coming to grips with his feelings for her, but he knew now he didn't want to lose her any time soon, if ever.
As she began to calm, he rubbed her back, listening to her explain about Michael. At first, he had gotten the wrong idea, leaping to the conclusion that they must have been together at some point, but then she explained and while he still wasn't sure they hadn't, he appreciated what she was saying about Michael being there for her.
He didn't let go of her as she covered her eyes with her hands, knowing this was hard for her. He felt so damn helpless. There was nothing he could do to help Penny and there was nothing he could do to take away this pain that Cho was feeling. Wait a minute. What did she say?
He had gotten so caught up in his thoughts that he had almost missed it.
"Why does everyone I fall for end up dying?"
"What?" he said before he could think twice. Everyone she fell for ended up dying? That wasn't exactly comforting, but even as he thought that, Seth knew that he would risk it for this amazing beautiful woman in his arms.
