Marietta noticed the flare in Alecto's eyes in her greeting-perhaps she was too familiar. She would be careful not to anger her, ever.
When Alecto bade her follow her, she was surprised when they started across the street to the muggle neighborhood near the church. Marietta was careful to avoid muggle enclaves...just being near them made her recoil in disgust, like walking past a sewer or garbage dump.
They stopped outside a house, and before her leader said a word she knew her task would be here. She could feel hate pulsating through her veins...what was she to do in this task, exactly? Marietta realized how willing she was to do anything asked. Though Alecto had not said so, she felt certain an unforgiveable curse was in store. For the first time in her life, she longed for it.
"What am I to do?" she asked, itching to hear her charge.
