Who: Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley.
What: The Talk.
Where: Ginny & George's flat above Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley.
When: Sunday, after lunch, Jan 2, 1999
Rating: No idea at this point. Probably low.
After lunch, Ginny was upstairs in the flat, making sure the living room was tidy before Harry got there. George was downstairs, in the shop or his workshop, out of the way, yet close enough if Ginny needed him. She doubted she would, but it was comforting to know that he was close by if she did. Collecting together some Quidditch magazines into a pile, Ginny put them at one end of the coffee table and looked around. It was presentable enough, she supposed, and went to put the kettle on.
Nerves were spiralling through her, and the fear was back, that same fear that had stopped her from making too much of an effort previously. Hearing Harry tell her to her face that he didn't want to be with her was going to be awful. But given what she had been through over the past few weeks, it wasn't the most awful thing that could happen to her. She had been through the most awful thing already and survived it, so she would survive this too. Lia had been right though. She couldn't take this limbo any longer. Even if this ended horrendously, she had to know.
Hearing a knock at the door, Ginny left the kettle on the stove and went to answer it.
"Hi," she said when she saw Harry on the other side, nerves shooting through her again. "Come in. You have good timing, I just put the kettle on. Would you like some tea or coffee?"
She really had no idea how to start this conversation and every time she had tried to come up with something, it had sounded stupid or too abrupt or just plan weird.
