Sally was suprised to see Justin when turned around from closing her front door. But it was the site of what was innoncently sitting on out in front of her house that was the most distracting. So much so, Justin's words were almost unheard.
There was a car on her street. A rather car, in fact. Sally's chest tightened at the sight of it. She had been successfully avoid muggle automobiles for years, choosing floo networks, port keys and apparition to wizard only locations. Sally rarely ventured into muggle parts of towns unless forced to visit a hidden magical building - and even then she spent as little time outside as possible.
As a child, she had had an awkward run in with an automobile. She had been crossing the street when the car seemed to appear out of nowhere - all gunning engine and bright lights. Sally stood frozen until her father grabbed her by the hand and dragged her out of the way. Since then, the image of a car haunted her - a monster waiting to attack.
Sally glanced at Justin, his words finally sneaking in. "Oh, yes. I had to borrow some from a friend. The trousers were a bit tricky, but overall I managed." As she spoke, it was clear she was distracted.
