Who: Sally-Anne Perks and Justin Finch-Fletchley What: A Social Challenge Where: Starts in Shrewsbury, Ends in London When: December 31, 1998 Rating: Average
Sally hesitated over her evening tea, waiting for best opportunity to get ready. Her brother had decided to go into the office for a few hours to finish up some year end business (My, how industrious of him!) before heading out to the pub. Her mother had been out to dinner with a friend, but would probably be back by nine. So that allowed Sally a small window to get dressed and out of the house without anyone seeing her.
In her bedroom, standing there in her bathrobes with her hair twisted in a towel, she examined the bag of clothes that had been made available to her. A nice pair of denims charmed to shorten the legs a bit. A cream cowl necked sweater. Was that a pair of heeled boots? At least the borrowed clothes weren't totally ridiculous, but her mother would not be pleased if she saw her daughter wearing them.
Sally got dressed quickly, dried her hair and applied some make up before sneaking downstairs to avoid waking her mother's dog. Down in the kitchen, she jotted a quick note: "Gone to London for the evening. Promise to take a Portkey home instead of apparting if needed. Love, Sally-Anne."
She examined her overcoat and felt it would pass, even in the muggle world. Tossing on her knitted hat and gloves, she closed the front door gently behind her.
