Seth had never bothered to ask a girl about her family before. Actually that wasn't true. There had been a couple of girlfriends at Hogwarts and of course he had asked them, but then that was Hogwarts and it wasn't exactly the place for flings. Since leaving Hogwarts that had been all he'd had, for a variety of reasons. His job being one, and the war another. Both had kept him busy and from attempting anything more serious. That had changed when Cho had started working at the DMLE. All it had been at first was flirting, but soon, flirting with Cho became the highlight of his day.
So he listened to her talk about her family, a little surprised that her brother had married a Muggle. He didn't understand the allure himself, and he was sure it was quite awkward with her around.
"I think you should take your wand anyway," he said, addressing what he considered the most important issue first. "Don't tell your mum if you want, but definitely take it. You never know."
He set his fork down on his plate, considering what to tell her about his own family. "You didn't bore me, by the way. Your family sound lovely." Though he wasn't too sure about the Muggle. Muggleborns were one thing, Muggles were entirely another.
"As for mine, I'm the baby of the family," he said with a cute grin. "The oldest is my sister, Georgina and then there's James and then me. Georgie is married and James has a girlfriend that he has been with for a while. I don't remember how long, but Mum and Georgie are always asking him when he's going to pop the question so probably a while. Only one set of my grandparents are still alive, and they'll be over at mum and dad's for Christmas which will be nice. And that's pretty much it. So, did I bore you?"
He grinned and picked up his fork, taking a bite of his chicken now that he was done talking.
