Draco smiled a rare, but genuine smile as his eyes fell upon Pansy upon first sight of the evening. She was exactly as he imagined she would be – immensely beautiful and perfectly poised. His own custom-made and tailored, emerald green lined dress robes were exactly fitted to compliment and showcase her gown and Draco held his head high with such a beautiful girl on his arm.
The Atrium and all the decorations, as pretty as they were, gave Draco a momentary nostalgic feeling for the Hogwarts Christmas Ball during his Fourth Year and he stole a quick glance at Pansy and felt his cheeks warm the tiniest degree. In that moment, Draco was happy – no one had yet spoiled this glorious time – and they wouldn’t, if Draco had any say in the matter.
There was one small detail Draco had to tend to shortly after their arrival, and he excused himself apologetically before slipping away for a few moments. Upon his return, Draco approached Pansy from behind, softly whispering in her ear.
“My apologies for leaving your side.” He whispered smoothly, perhaps a slight scent of firewhiskey upon his breath as his hand slipped the flask into his robe pocket. “My attentions are solely upon you, henceforth.” He added as his swung gracefully around to face his most beautiful date.
