This was not how things were supposed to go. Daphne knew this day would come. She knew that one of these days someone would hear her play, and she played out the scenario in her mind a million times. A simple obliviating charm to erase that memory and replace it with something that didn't involve her violin was supposed to fix this. Instead, she found she had to justify her actions to someone who was not supposed to hear her play.
At his demand, Daphne's gaze slowly lifted to study his own. Subconsciously, her fingers moved toy over the tip of her wand. She didn't know what Theodore expected to see there, to be honest, Daphne didn't know what was going through her mind. Six million thoughts raced, and all she could truly focus on was how Theodore was staring directly back at her.
Theodore Nott was not supposed to make her feel so.... so, something she never felt before. He wasn't supposed to make her vulnerable, and he was definitely not supposed to hear her play. He was just Theodore Nott, the boy she enjoyed sitting in silence and reading books with at Hogwarts. When did this change? How did he suddenly become the one to make her feel a million things that weren't supposed to be there in the first place? Why was she suddenly unable to look away from him, even as her mind shouted at her to hex him and leave?
