The smile remained as she poured out his tea first, handing it to him before pouring herself some. Placing a lemon wedge in hers, she stirred it slowly, listening to his answer. Daphne remained very quiet as she took a sip from her tea before resting the tea cup and saucer on her lap.
"Do..." Daphne stared at him, for a moment. There was no other way to pose her next question, so she was going to have to be blunt. "Do you think that you would even be happy married to me? We both know I'm not the easiest person to get along with, why would you even want to subject yourself to that?" Daphne was flustered, and the only way to stop herself from putting her foot in her mouth was to occupy it with more tea.
