How dare Rabastan Lestrange write such things. Hermione didn't know what he took them for, but anyone who even considered his 'offer of peace' had to be touched in the head. Sadly, she supposed that would include the people who agreed with him.
It had been wrong to reply to his journal entry, she knew that much. But she hadn't been able to help herself. It was the tone of the whole thing that got to her the most. It was written as if he was a reasonable person, willing to do them a favour.
Right.
At least Ron had gotten some sleep, and she glanced up as he appeared in the kitchen. "Sleep?" Hermione repeated. "Not likely." Her tone suggested he might as well have just asked her if she had flown to the moon and back. Hours after and she was still worked up from the night before. Even getting the last word hadn't been enough, and though she had been awake, she hadn't managed to concentrate on anything long enough to make any substantial use of her time.
