Sally wanted nothing more than to tell Justin "I told you so". There was no way that Megan was going to be keen on him spending time with Sally. Any idiot could see that.
And that's why Sally had kept her distance these last few weeks. She didn't want trouble and she certainly didn't want a reminder of the friend she was going to lose over this. But he was so oblivious to all that.
Sally stood up and walked over to the counter that divided the kitchen from the living room area. In a small ceramic bowl, sat the key that he had left for her. She picked it up and tossed it Justin's direction.
"Tell her I gave the bloody thing back," she spat. "Tell her I didn't want the damn thing in the first place."
