"Patrick." It was a relieved murmured as she shook her head, moving her study off her lap. "Nice to see you. As always." She raised an eyebrow at him by way of greeting and sat forward, chin in her hands.
Since his arrival back at school she hadn't seen much of him. Their venture into the Forbidden Forest had revealed sides of them to the other and, though she wouldn't call him a friend, he wasn't just a housemate anymore. There were walls between them that he kept up, a bravado he maintained despite her efforts to overcome them. She'd all but given up -- willing to just accept whatever he was willing to give him.
"We're sitting. What're you doing up here? Not coming to murder us, I would hope?" She straightened, jerking a chin in the direction of his cigarette. "Willing to part with one of those?" she asked, half expecting him to say no.
