Curfew or not, Patrick was on edge. It was a rough day per usual and he had a chip on his shoulder that could only be brushed off by indulging in a satisfying cigarette. The sun was about to set; he had to be quick if he wanted to get back without getting harangued by a professor. Patrick was already walking on eggshells these past few weeks. Surprisingly enough, he'd been able to take a few hints and tone down his activity with such heightened security.
Patrick briskly walked up the stairs of the Astronomy Tower, the only place on campus he could reliably be alone. Lighting a cigarette as he spiraled the staircase, the first drag was an instant dip into relief. He held the smoke deep in his lungs, letting every single aveolus go turgid with tobacco. Patrick opened the door of the highest most room of the tower only to be greeted by an unwelcome obstacle.
"What are you two slags doing in here?" He looked at the two girls incredulously who were looking at him as if he had an axe in his hand. Great. He wasn't going to be able to enjoy himself in peace tonight.
