3/3
When it comes to being a Drifter. Virginia refers to it as "growing her wings," and other terribly cute sentiments that suggest she finds it more a right of passage than a way of life. Of course, this is also due to in the Japanese version of the game, "Drifter," was originally "Migrant Birds." Virginia's decision to become a Drifter is not just to see the world, but also in hopes of finding her father and learning about the way he used to live before her time. Part of seeing it as a right of passage instead of a way of life is the fact that her father was a Drifter. To her, being a Drifter would be proving herself to her father and growing up in the process. Seeing the world and helping others are just the perks of it.
Shortly after arriving on a train, she meets three strangers by chance.
They become her traveling companions and unravel a whole new world of possibilities for Virginia and help her solve her father's disappearance, as well as save the world. One of her companions, Clive, suggested she be the leader for their little ragtag group of misfits. While not everyone agreed, they quickly saw her potential then felt the same as Clive. The other two members of the group are a flirtatious Baskar native named Gallows and a young (and most foul-tempered) man named Jet.
It's more often than not suggested that she has feelings for Jet and he for her. However, the WA series has only had one "official" pairing (referred to by the creators as "the only successful WA pairing") thus far and Jet and Virginia were never directly stated as a pairing. Jet is crude and more often than not just downright mean to Virginia. She usually shrugs it off and gets nasty right back with him, but at times she can be terribly vulnerable and brought to tears by the insensitive things he says. More often than not, though, she just responds positively and tells him she can do what he says she can't or that he shouldn't be so negative. Things like that.
Out of the main enemies, Janus is the most notable. He could have a whole section to himself when it comes to his relationship with Virginia. Janus is really condescending and treats Virginia rudely because she's new at being a Drifter. Part of it is the fact that he's a famous Drifter and she had no idea who he was, thus bruising his already giant ego pretty badly. Janus refers to her as "Princess," in an almost cruel way. However, no matter how mean he is to her... he always lets her get away with more than he should. There are times when he could have hurt her badly, but instead laid off of her and just walked away from the fight, letting her go forward because deep down, he wants to believe in Virginia. It's suggested that he has feelings for her and well. With the way Virginia responds, it's not unbelievable that she had feelings for him before he completely crossed over to the side of the Prophets (the "final enemies" of sorts in the game).
Also. Her eyes are coloured differently. In the anime sequences, they are a gentle sky blue. In (most) official art, they're green or a really bright blue. In the new art on the official Wild ARMS site they're a lovely aqua, but they have this awesome green tone around the pupils.
RP Sample: E-eh? Why is it the first time that I get on a train and ditch my horse in a long time that I suddenly get lost! Clive, Gallows! Jet! This... this isn't funny! I don't even know how to contact Lombardia! W-what am I supposed to do? I'm in the middle of nowhere and I can't very well find my way out of here! I can't give up, but there isn't much I can do right now, is there? There... doesn't appear to be any monsters in the area, but I can't exactly afford to let my guard down...
I just hope everyone else is doing okay. I guess it'd be nice if they were somewhere nearby, but... I don't know. I just want them to be safe.
