“They don’t seem that out of date to me. Or maybe mine are. Or yours are too futuristic. Or something.” That was too much thinking about timelines for a party, and Meggan was far more into living in just this moment than she was anything else. As they danced, she felt his emotions pouring back, too, and Meggan sighed contentedly.
Jim’s admission to liking everything they did together had Meggan grinning, and she nuzzled her face into his shoulder a little bit, her nose on his neck. “Me too.” She said softly, her arms wrapping just a little tighter around him as they danced.
“I’ve rarely felt so comfortable in my entire life, as I do here – not just because of this town, but because of you.” And Riley, and Kay even – but Jim’s face was the first face she saw, the first person who accepted her. He put her at such ease, which he had to know. It was there, every time they touched.
