"I liked the shallow and superficial once," She admitted with a soft laugh, it had been fun to attend balls and entertain men. She'd had so much potential ahead of her, and then she'd met him, and everything about her life, and her after life had changed. What did surprise her though was his mentioning a boyfriend, that was - unexpected. Even Bee and Jane didn't use such language to talk about their bond, no matter how obvious it might be to those who looked at them together.
But she didn't pry, didn't want to put him in a position to explain himself, she'd learn in time she was sure - what was accepted here and what wasn't. As she reminded herself frequently she wasn't in the 1960s anymore.
"Oh," She considered glancing around the room, her eyes landing on a man who looked like he felt nearly as out of place as she did. And she leaned just a little closer to Enjolras and tipped her head in the direction of a man she might in time learn was called Riley. "He looks like he might be feeling a great deal like I am."
