She knew he was enjoying it, too, the dancing. It felt nice to know that, and Meggan found herself having to look away again, down at their feet so she could pretend she was making sure not to step on his toes again. Twice was probably enough, anyway. She was glad he agreed with her assessment, that they always had fun. She thought he would, given that she could feel his emotions when they hung out, but it was nice to get the affirmation out loud as well.
Sometimes she could misinterpret emotions, what people felt didn't always align with what they were thinking.
"Even through all this noise, even if you weren't standing right next to me, I could tell what you're feeling. You're so bright, did you know? Maybe it's not funny, or maybe it's only kind of funny to me because I can feel it." She shrugged, tucking her chin down a little into her shirt's collar. "Everyone has their own sort of... signature. The way you feel has it. Maybe it's weird more than funny."
