Sabrina crawled along the floor once he fell, her cocoon of light sticking to her and preventing the shadows from dong any further damage. She enveloped Nikolai within it once she was close enough, forcing the shadows back and shifted the creature he'd become so its head rested in her lap.
Darkness had never frightened her, not when she was as much a creature of it as she was of the light.
There wasn't anything else she could do but keep the cocoon around the two of them and hope whatever was happening ended soon.
