"Okay." Abigail said, also knowing it couldn't happen and even if they could, she was probably too young to get past a bouncer.
"That says something about you. A lot of people get uncomfortable when others are upset, and you like to help them." Abigail commented. "You must have a great deal of empathy." She thought it was a specific empathy, very different from Will's ability to take on anyone's point of view, and for Alexis that was a good thing. Beyond not having to deal with Will's problems, she seemed to miss things that would damage her confidence. Not common ground with Abigail, but it was interesting.
"Oh, yes. I spent so much time in the woods when I was young, that it almost feels like home. Very safe. Nothing has scared me there." Abigail found the bugs more sad than scary, especially the ones that seemed like they wanted to be stepped on. "It really is perfect for me. I love it. Other people were given the jobs that fit them best too." But not everyone. It was like a strange lottery and she had actually been a winner. "Were you given a job here?"
