Mags and Gwen
District, Gwen hadn't heard that before, at least not as a way people described where they were from. Not even people from DC called it that, she wondered at the kind of world Mags was from, if she'd grown up on the water like that, working to provide food for a capital. "The ocean isn't far from where I grew up, but most people don't tend to get in it."
Gwen got the feeling they were both thinking a lot of things, taking in what they could about the other and what they said about where they were from and what they made of this place. "It's all any of us can do." She smiled back, parties might not be her thing, and she might not be certain she was cut out for friendship with most of the people who had shown up tonight, but no one could accuse her of not trying.
"It's been -" She paused and thought about it, "A little more than a month, almost two" Which was strange to think about having been stuck here this long. But nothing she'd done with her goober had managed to get a portal to open, she was just as stuck as the rest of them. And if Miguel was still stuck here then she had little hope of finding an answer herself. "It's weird, but it's not too different from where I'm from - I mean the magic stuff isn't normal for me, most people are just... you know, people, where I'm from. But the big stuff, that's pretty normal." And frankly pretty boring, at least when she visited Hobie in his universe things were interesting, This place was like being back home but stuck in a small town and that was the worst.
