🌨️ Despite there not being any snow in the forecast, a several mile radius around Dunhaven is hit by a particularly bad snowstorm. The meterologists aren't able to really explain the sudden change in pressure, outside of that weather patterns can be unpredictable, especially this time of year. The snow begins slowly in the late afternoon but it picks up as the hours pass, the town more or less snowed in by nightfall. Though efforts for snow removal will start, it's pretty fruitless until the snow finally stops the following evening. Outside of emergency services and the like, the town is more or less shut down on January 6. A number of businesses will still be closed on January 7, though the main streets will be mostly cleared out if you want to brave them to get somewhere. (And to be clear -- yes, this is the storm that will lead to the influx of #blizzardbabies.)

🏫 January Term begins for university students. Taking a class during January Term is optional. If a student does not take a class, they will continue their holiday break until second semester begins in February. (Classes are cancelled due to the blizzard, but term still technically begins today.)

Enjoy a new out-and-back 5K course that starts/finishes downtown and runs through University of Dunhaven's campus. Even better, all participants receive more glow paraphernalia than you'll know what to do with and the course is lined with flashy lights and music. Wheelchair racers, strollers and leashed pets are welcome. Post-race celebration at The Sugar Bar immediately following the 5K.

💃 Do you have dancing experience? Are you a local celebrity that would like to dance? Then come on down to Jazz House for auditions for Dunhaven's own version of Dancing With the Stars! The dancing will start in February, with those chosen to be the expert dancers and celebrities having a few weeks to prepare. Each weekly competition will even be shown live on the town's public access channel, if you can't make it down to watch! Though there will be scores given by the judges, there won't be any eliminations, with the couples dancing each week in February to showcase the talent that the town has and just have fun! Feel free to volunteer any dancers (should have some dance experience) or local celebrities (politicians, radio DJs, business owners, that sort of thing) that you might have that would be interested in this; everyone will get to participate and if there's an uneven number, we'll assign some NPCs.
